The Team Houston County Coalition Committee was established to investigate whether the Warner Robins and Perry Area chambers could reach a greater potential by working from a broader approach.  The committee is made up of members with varying opinions on such a prospect.  The committee also includes the professional expertise of our friends at the RDC.

As we worked through the benefits and challenges, looked at the number and success of those initiatives in which we already work closely together, and then at the strengths of those regions with one county-wide entity, it became increasingly apparent to all members of the committee that we had a great opportunity to operate under one umbrella organization—a Houston County Chamber.  Furthermore, as we presented our concept to our respective Boards of Directors, we received overwhelming support for this new vision.

Our next steps include taking this same vision before our members and informing you of the potential we believe a Houston County Chamber has to offer.  We ask that you evaluate our concept, look at our list of frequently asked questions, take into consideration how our chambers already collaborate with great success, and then ask yourself the question:  what does my chamber do for me and my business now, and how could this new organization do more.

The committee has worked together for many weeks and all of us are satisfied that we and the businesses we represent stand to gain by leaps and bounds from a county-wide approach.  We understand the uniqueness of the cities that make up Houston County and the strong heritage of our existing organizations.  We understand the obligation to preserve our history.  We see the great diversity that currently exists within both organiztions—industry, small business, utilities, non-profits, and so forth.  We are also cognizant of the ever changing competitive environment in which we reside.  And we believe in that very unique exceptionality lays the collective strength to tackle the challenges of our future.  Not any one of us could have imagined when we first met that we could have come so far.  However, the desire to serve our individual best interests in concert with the hope of better serving our members, has allowed us to set forth with a vision for Houston County where we can speak with one voice.

We want to thank our boards and chairs for having the courage to embark on such an ambitious prospect.  We have established a new level of trust and understanding between our respective organizations.  And as we look to the future, no matter where we go from here, this process has brought us closer and more united than ever.
